Director of Construction
Jim Smith serves as the Director of Construction for Ingerman. He has spent much of his career in commercial construction as a field superintendent. During this time, he worked on a variety of projects including high-rise, commercial fit-out, medical, academic facilities, and housing.
At Ingerman, Jim directly supervises the superintendent cadre and assists entities within the construction division with safety, quality, scheduling, and cost reviews. Additionally, he lends his expertise to resolve technical and logistical issues.
Before joining Ingerman, Jim served as a senior superintendent with a variety of local and national construction management firms involved with projects throughout the United States. Prior to his professional career, Jim served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps, eventually attaining the rank of Captain. Jim served in the 3rd Marine Division in Okinawa, Japan as a combat engineer and aboard the Marine Corp Recruit Depot, Parris Island, SC involved with recruit training.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Architecture Degree from Temple University and is a strong advocate for mentorship, promoting and teaching leadership in construction.
