Tim Tencer

Director of Pre-Construction Services

Mr. Tencer earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering Technology, specializing in Construction Management, from The University of Houston in 1984. Prior to completing his degree, his background included work within roadway and utility construction, drafting, and surveying.

Mr. Tencer’s previous experience includes working with Tribble & Stephens Co. as a field engineer, superintendent, and then as project manager in the construction of malls, shopping centers, supermarkets, and multi-plex theaters as well as the renovation of a Houston area sports stadium.

Later Mr. Tencer worked as a project manager for Hessert Construction, a southern New Jersey based general contractor, where he managed various types of construction projects including schools, churches, office buildings, and conference and cultural arts centers.  He also completed the construction of medical facilities for local managed health care systems and municipal buildings for several local communities.  His residential work included a HUD funded apartment project for low income handicapped occupants.  Mr. Tencer’s responsibilities included all aspects of owner, designer, and subcontractor coordination and project management, scheduling, estimating, and cost monitoring and analysis. 

Mr. Tencer joined Ingerman Construction Company in 1997 and has contributed as Senior Project Management as well as Director of Construction and is currently Director of Pre-Construction Services.  Mr. Tencer has overseen the construction of various types of housing projects including extensive renovation of existing commercial facilities, the development of new townhome communities, as well as multi-level and mixed use apartment structures. Mr. Tencer has been integrally involved in all aspects of development and construction of negotiated, hard bid and design build housing communities. 

Mr. Tencer’s experience includes involvement within the entire development process including acquisition, approvals from governing agencies and authorities, employment of design professionals, development of conceptual designs/estimates, complete estimating and purchasing services, contract negotiation and management, drawing review and design document control management, scheduling development and implementation, and full construction management and cost management services.
