MRK Announces the Grand Opening of The Willows at Forest Drive June 30, 2026
New Rental Community Celebrates Opening in Annapolis
Annapolis, MD – June 30, 2026 – MRK Partners joined Housing Initiative Partnership, Inc. (HIP), project partners, state and local officials to celebrate the grand opening of The Willows at Forest Drive, an affordable housing community located in Annapolis, Maryland.
The Willows at Forest Drive is a 58-unit family residential development consisting of 12 one-bedroom units, 28 two-bedroom units, and 18 three-bedroom units. All the apartments are affordable at 20%-50% of Area Median Income (AMI) for Anne Arundel County. Eleven of the project’s units received project-based vouchers (PBVs) and five units were designated for HOME assistance in conjunction with Arundel County Development Services.
The community is comprised of three residential buildings; all 3-story, walk-up garden-style designs. Exterior features include walkways, gardens, seating areas, a playground, and parking, which will create a functional and attractive curb appeal to enhance the area. The community is certified to LEED, Energy Star Multifamily NC, and Zero Energy Ready Homes specifications. The units contain spacious bedrooms with significant storage, a full kitchen package and in-unit washers and dryers. Three handicapped accessible UFAS units were outfitted with roll-in showers and two units were modified to accommodate hearing and vision impaired (HVI) households.

The community’s amenities include a resident lounge, management and social services offices, and a fitness room. MRK has staffed the community with a full-time property manager and maintenance onsite. Additionally, MRK’s Dept of Community and Supportive Services works with HIP to facilitate linkages with the local community to connect residents with area resources and offer additional lifestyle and wellness support.
The development’s location puts households in close proximity to grocery stores, schools, and parks, many within walking distance. This location is well-connected to bus routes, giving residents access to jobs, education, and services throughout Annapolis.
